Pablo Ferro Documentary reaction.
Pablo Ferro is a self taught animator best known for his innovative commercials, movie trailers, and title screens. After working for a theatre in New York he got a job as a comic illustrator, I think what is most fascinating about his work is that he brings that comic book/graphic style into his commercial work. He uses the "Quick Cut" action style as for the Pace of his commercials and trailer as well as his use of quickly shown still images or movie clips mixed in with quotes or other related text. In the 60's Pablo was given the chance to work with Stanley Kubric who was directing Dr.Strangelove, Kubric wanted Pablo to create a trailer for him, it was Pablo's first Trailer. Having Seen Dr. Strangelove I feel for the most part that Pablo really summerised the movie well very well catching the oddness of the movie while still leaving out just enough information to make you want to watch it and find out more. I really appreciate how the documentary style was reminiscent of the work he did in his career, providing the viewer with quick cuts of information at the beginning before going back and explaining their relevance throughout the movie.
